Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallised carbonate minerals formed under the Earth’s crust due to excessive heat and pressure. The earliest known use of marble was documented in 438 BC by the Egyptians.
Mango wood or Mangifera indica is categorised as hardwood because of it’s strength, density and durability. It is a sustainable option as the trees used are those which are past their fruit bearing lifespan.
This unique pair of coasters is a combination of form and function .
The coasters are handcrafted, putting together marble and wood, with a brass line running through the middle.
Each square coaster weighs 300 grams and measures 4 × 4 inches with a thickness of 2 cm.
