Dhokra is an ancient art of moulding non ferrous metals around a cast of beeswax and clay.
It was used 4000 years ago during the Indus valley civilization.
The Dhokra Damar tribes of West Bengal perfected the technique using an alloy of bronze and copper.
It later spread to other parts of Central, eastern and southern India.
