Brass was used as sculptures and ship fittings due to its resistance to corrosion.
The purposeful smelting of brass was believed to have originated in India in the second half of 1000 BC.
A spice box made of hammered brass and 7 spill proof containers with a spoon. It has an airtight lid made from mango wood and has a brass lotus knob.
The box weighs 1.27 kg and has a diameter of 20 cm and depth 6 cm.
Each spice container has a partial lid to make it spill proof. Each has a diameter of 6cm and depth 4cm.
This spice box is both functional and beautiful.
